From June 12th to 15th, the review meeting for the pre-feasibility study report of the second-phase pumped-storage power station in Yuanqu, Shanxi Province was held in Yuanqu. The preliminary work of Shanxi Yuanqu Phase II Pumped Storage Power Station has achieved important milestones.
The Shanxi Yuanqu Phase II pumped-storage power station project invested by Shanxi Wyton New Energy Co., Ltd. was included in the national “14th Five-Year Plan” key implementation project, with a total investment of 7.78 billion yuan.
The project is located on the Banjian River in Xieyu Township, Yuanqu County. The power station pivot project consists of an upper reservoir, a water delivery system, an underground powerhouse and its ancillary buildings, and a lower reservoir. The installed capacity of the power station is 1200 MW, and 4 single-stage mixed-flow reversible pump-turbine units with a single unit capacity of 300 MW are installed. The rated water head of the power station is 387.4 m. The upper reservoir adopts an asphalt concrete face rockfill dam with an adjustment storage capacity of 8.23 million cubic meters. The main dam of the lower reservoir is made of concrete. The face rockfill dam has an adjusted storage capacity of 9.92 million cubic meters and a total construction period of 72 months. After the power station is completed, it will mainly undertake the tasks of peak regulation, valley filling, frequency regulation, phase regulation and emergency backup in the system. It will further play a leading role in the project and lay a solid foundation for high-quality economic and social development.
